We have been working diligently to plan an exceptional season to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Center for the Arts at George Mason University. We are eager to unveil these artists and programming to you – our family of audience members, subscribers, donors, and the Mason community. In light of the current uncertainty about when it will be possible to resume live performances safely and comfortably, we have made the difficult decision to delay announcing the 2020-2021 season. This delay will ensure that we are able to take every possible step to ensure the health and safety of our audience and visiting artists. It will also allow more time to create additional support so that we may provide the best customer service to our patrons during this time when the physical ticket office is closed.
We plan to announce a season full of performances by national and international artists that will refresh your soul and inspire you. We know that you – like all of us here – yearn for the special sense of community, of celebration, of renewal that only live performance can offer.
We had hoped to announce the season and make subscriptions available during the first week of May. We do not yet know exactly when we will be able to share our incredible lineup of artists with you, but we will keep you updated as soon as we do know. In the meantime, please connect with the Center for the Arts through our Mason Arts at Home programming which offers livestream performances and guest artist conversations, releases of previously recorded content, and interactive experiences.
The Center for the Arts has grown strong and remained vibrant over the last three decades with the loyal support of our community. We are looking forward to bringing the lights up on our fourth decade soon to celebrate that vibrancy and continue building the legacy of artistic excellence Northern Virginia has come to expect at the Center for the Arts.
