Soaring Sounds in an Intimate Setting
After 18 months of renovations, George Mason University's Harris Theatre reopened for performances in February 2022. A Mason Arts venue, Harris Theatre features music performances including recitals, chamber music and larger ensemble concerts, dance performances, theater productions, speakers, and special events.
The renovations resulted in an expanded lobby featuring dedicated restrooms and an updated ticket office. Performers and crew can now enjoy a refinished backstage including dressing rooms and green room, and all will appreciate upgrades to the heating and ventilation system and state-of-the-art theatrical lighting and audio.
The venue offers performers and audience members the benefit of optimum acoustics in an intimate setting. The nature of the venue lends itself to a variety of presentations, including speaking events, classical or contemporary theater, music recitals, dance productions, film screenings, and music recording sessions.
Harris Theatre is a modified proscenium theater. It is not currently available for rental, but may be reserved for events. The venue has been used by community arts organizations, as well as recording studios seeking a “live” sounding room. Learn more about rentals.
