Soaring Sounds in an Intimate Setting
Harris Theatre resumes its rightful place at the heart of arts at Mason. After 18 months of renovations, Mason's Harris Theatre once again opened for performances in February 2022. Harris Theatre features music performances including recitals, chamber music and larger ensemble concerts, dance performances, theater productions, speakers, and special events.
The renovations have resulted in an expanded lobby featuring dedicated restrooms and an updated ticket office. Performers and crew can now enjoy a newly refinished backstage including dressing rooms and green room, and all will appreciate upgrades to the heating and ventilation system and state-of-the-art theatrical lighting and audio.
The venue offers performers and audience members the benefit of optimum acoustics in an intimate setting. The nature of the venue lends itself to a variety of presentations, including speaking events, classical or contemporary theater, music recitals, dance productions, film screenings, and music recording sessions.
Harris Theatre is a modified proscenium theater. It is not currently available for rental, but may be reserved for events. The venue has been used by community arts organizations, as well ad recording studios seeking a “live” sounding room. Learn more about rentals.
