Bachelor of Arts in Art & Visual Technology, Interdisciplinary Arts

Bachelor of Fine Arts, Art & Visual Technology, Concentration in Graphic Design

The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art and Visual Technology, Concentration in Graphic Design is a 120-credit program designed to equip students with the necessary skills and expertise to succeed in the field.
Bachelor of Fine Arts, Art & Visual Technology, Concentration in Studio Art
This immersive program is thoughtfully designed to provide students with a comprehensive education in the fields of studio art and new media, fostering analytical thinking, creativity, and hands-on experiences. The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Art and Visual Technology (AVT) is a 120-credit program that caters to individuals who aspire to become professional visual artists or pursue advanced studies in the arts at the graduate level.
Certificate in Graphic Design
The Graphic Design Certificate is for working adults with a 4-year baccalaureate undergraduate degree from an accredited institution who seek to gain the skills and competency to advance into a career in graphic design or gain skills to enhance their current work.
Computer Game Design, BFA
The 120-credit BFA program in Computer Game Design enables students to focus on the artistic components of computer game design while providing them with the technical skills prerequisite to the field. Required courses include computer science, art and visual technology, music, the humanities, and computer game design. The required internship provides students with practical experience that enhances their employability post-graduation.
Dance, BFA
The BFA in Dance is a performance-oriented contemporary dance program designed to prepare students professionally as performers, choreographers, educators, and active leaders of the dance community. Students in this program demonstrate technical mastery and devote their college study to an intensive and comprehensive dance curriculum.
Film and Video Studies, BA
Film at Mason offers a collaborative and interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts degree in Film and Video Studies. Students build a strong foundation in film production, business and entrepreneurship, ethics, and film analysis.
Bachelor of Arts in Music
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Music provides maximum flexibility to students who have diverse interests in music and other fields. Recent BA students have gone on to graduate study and to careers in studio teaching, arts management, musicology, and music theory to name only a few. Students may choose between several concentrations: Music, Music Technology, Music Pedagogy, and Audio Engineering and Sound Design.
Bachelor of Music
The Bachelor of Music (BM) at the Dewberry School of Music provides a more intensive music education, more akin to the depth and rigor required by a conservatory. Students may choose between several concentrations: performance, music education, music technology, composition, and jazz studies.
Bachelor of Arts in Theater
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theater majors are encouraged to maintain wide-ranging interests within the school and throughout the university’s extensive offerings. They can organize their advanced work within a chosen area of theater or elect to include advanced level theater classes in several areas of emphasis. Bachelor of Arts students must use some or all general electives to complete a minor, a double major, a double degree, intermediate-level proficiency in one foreign language, or 12 credits of advanced standing coursework towards an accelerated Masters of Arts degree in Arts Management.
Bachelor of Fine Arts in Theater
The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) in Theater degree prepares students for graduate study or entry into the profession through rigorous, concentrated, and individualized training. All BFA students complete the theater core and are admitted into a chosen concentration to organize their advanced work within the major.
