Biography

Wesley Hunt (he/him) is an award-winning cinematographer in the D.C. Metro area with over ten years of experience as a freelancer. Though he makes a living shooting educational and corporate videos, his real passion is genre filmmaking. He has extensive experience with over two dozen short sci-fi and horror films and is known among colleagues for his use of deep shadows and extreme color palettes.  He has worked on several long-form documentaries and was DP on a locally-shot feature, the dark comedy Kringle Time.  An advocate for celluloid and lover of 16mm, he favors a practical, hands-on approach to learning.  While attaining his MFA at American University, he spent a semester studying at FAMU - the prestigious Film Academy of Prague.  His work has screened at many domestic and international film festivals.
