SCHOOL OF THEATER
Bachelor of Arts in Theater
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Theater majors are encouraged to maintain wide-ranging interests within the school and throughout the university’s extensive offerings. They can organize their advanced work within a chosen area of theater or elect to include advanced level theater classes in several areas of emphasis. Bachelor of Arts students must use some or all general electives to complete a minor, a double major, a double degree, intermediate-level proficiency in one foreign language, or 12 credits of advanced standing coursework towards an accelerated Masters of Arts degree in Arts Management.
Theater alumna Adelina Mitchell has been cast as the standby for the role of Elphaba in Wicked for the Broadway National Tour. Adelina is quoted as saying: "If I can fly, so can you! Thankful for my time at Mason and hope students cherish every moment."
Admission to this program is a two-step process:
1) apply to George Mason University and
2) submit materials into the Slide Room portal for your audition/portfolio review.
If you are a current student at George Mason, you can begin with step two.
