The Film and Video Studies program at George Mason University, fondly called FAVS, celebrates their 10-year anniversary this year. FAVS at Mason is the first multidisciplinary undergraduate degree in filmmaking in Virginia. Established in 2008 with one faculty member, FAVS has grown from a small program within the College of Visual and Performing Arts to a thriving degree path guided by 6 full-time award-winning faculty who are film industry professionals. Graduates of FAVS have gone on to receive nominations for Daytime Emmy® Awards, screen their senior films internationally, and more.
On May 5, FAVS will host a celebration honoring the program’s alumni and their impressive accomplishments. FAVS @ 10 is a day-long program which ties into the 6th annual Mason Film Festival, May 3-6. FAVS @10 will include networking opportunities, screening of alumni works, and panels featuring alumni, faculty, and industry professionals on the state of media-making today.
Tickets are free but RSVP is required at Eventbrite.
