Keyboard Conversations® with Jeffrey Siegel is for both music lovers and those that want to become music lovers. Sunday, January 26 at 7 p.m., Jeffrey returns to the Center in a Keyboard Conversations® concert that pairs two of the most famous composers of all time: Sergi Rachmaninoff and Claude Debussy. In celebration of the 75th anniversary of the birth of Rachmaninoff and the 100th anniversary of the death of Debussy, Jeffrey will not only perform the sensuous Romantic melody Prelude in C-sharp minor by Rachmaninoff and the impressionistic wonder Clair de lune by Debussy, he will draw you into the composers’ lives by sharing fascinating details about their creative processes and feeling about their creations. As a result, you will leave the Center with a deeper appreciation of the music and the artist.
Enjoy a short taste of Jeffrey Siegel’s masterful storytelling in this clip about Debussy’s surprising thoughts about his extremely popular Clair de lune.
