Biography

Nicolas Nami is a motion designer, filmmaker, and creative strategist with over 30 years in the industry. He’s known for crafting high-impact videos and brand storytelling for clients like Georg Fischer and Nasdaq. At George Mason University’s Art and Visual Technology program, he built a solid foundation in art fundamentals — from drawing and art history to understanding the “why” behind the work. During his time there, he was part of the collaborative theater project Silence & Darkness under Kirby Malone, an experience that shaped his approach to storytelling and visual language.

As the motion designer and creative director for The Never Settle Show, which received a 2018 New York Emmy Award for Outstanding Interactivity, Nicolas contributed to an award-winning team effort that blended innovative visuals and interactive content. His work has also been recognized with Best VFX in a Feature at the Ohio Film Festival (2024) for The Perfect Shadow, Best Documentary honors at the New York International Film and Video Festival (2007), and recognition by Princeton University for his creative work on freedom and Iran.

Nicolas credits the supportive community at George Mason with fostering his curiosity and providing the tools to keep evolving, no matter the era.

Currently, Nicolas runs Nami Pictures, a motion design and video production company based in Orange County, California. His work focuses on telling brand stories through purposeful visuals, working with clients like Georg Fischer and Nasdaq. He is running a meetup group for creatives called Meetup Masters. Over the years, he’s moved from agency jobs to freelancing and now to running his own shop. His focus has always been clear, impactful visuals that stand the test of time.
