Iris Zhou

Iris (Mengxia) Zhou, a professional traditional Chinese instrument musician, received her bachelor’s degree in Music Performance in China in 2016. In 2017, Iris came to the United States and started pursuing her master’s degree in Arts Management. During her study at CVPA, she worked as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Finance and Budgeting for the Arts I and Arts Entrepreneurship in Spring 2019. Iris was the recipient of the Andy Bursten Memorial Award focusing on Financial Management and Budgeting for the Arts in 2019. After her graduation in December 2019, she started her first official job in the U.S. as the Executive Program Administrative Assistant at Kirov Academy of Washington DC. In Fall 2021, she joined the CVPA marketing team as the full-time Marketing Coordinator, supporting publications for the Center for the Arts, the Hylton Performing Arts Center, and the College of Visual and Performing Arts.
