Suzanne Carbonneau is an arts essayist, critic, and historian whose writings have appeared in The Washington Post, The New York Times and other publications.
She served as director of the NEA Arts Journalism Institute in Dance, and as critic-in-residence at the American Dance Festival and at the Joyce Theater in New York City. Carbonneau is scholar-in-residence at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival and the Bates Dance Festival. Her biography of choreographer Paul Taylor will be published by Farrar, Straus & Giroux. Carbonneau is a MacDowell Fellow, a Yaddo Fellow, and the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship. She holds a PhD from New York University.
