SCHOOL OF ART
BA, Art and Visual Technology, Concentration in Interdisciplinary Arts
The Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Art and Visual Technology, Concentration in Interdisciplinary Arts is an expansive, 120-credit program providing students with a liberal arts education and diverse opportunities for exploration and personal growth within the visual arts. Emphasizing a well-rounded education, the program allows students to fulfill general education requirements while pursuing a minor, secondary program, or intermediate proficiency in a foreign language, broadening their intellectual horizons.
The Studio Foundations Experience offers a solid grounding in artistic principles, while the studio core and research practicum courses allow students to further develop their practical skills and engage in hands-on creative work.
The program offers interdisciplinary studio course electives in the following areas: Drawing, New Media, Painting, Photography, Printmaking and Book Arts, Graphic Design, and Sculpture.
Associate Professor and Director of Studio Art Christopher Kardambikis found his voice and purpose through publishing zines, artist books, and prints. He brings that same ethos into the classroom teaching classes in printmaking, book arts, and a Dynamic Publishing minor.
