Winner of a MacArthur Genius Fellowship Grant and the Avery Fisher Prize, pianist Jeremy Denk is, according to the New York Times, “a pianist you want to hear no matter what he performs.” Denk joins the esteemed Fairfax Symphony Orchestra to perform Beethoven’s poetic Piano Concerto No. 4 in G major, Op. 58 on November 23 at the Center for the Arts.

The annual ARTS by George! benefit, presented by George Mason University’s College of Visual and Performing Arts (CVPA), returns in 2024 with multiple award-winning actress and singer Lea Salonga as the headliner. The philanthropic event raises vital support for student scholarships in visual arts, dance, music, theater, game design, film, and arts management, as well as for the Mason Community Arts Academy, Green Machine Ensembles, and the Great Performances at Mason season at the Center for the Arts. ARTS by George! takes place on Saturday, September 28 on the Fairfax campus of George Mason University.

Right before Earth Day, Small Island Big Song (SIBS) presented an "impassioned" (Roots World) concert experience at the Center for the Arts on April 20, combining music, spoken word, and stunning projections of indigenous artists from Pacific and Indian Ocean island nations while shining a light on the devastating effects of the climate crisis on our world’s oceans. As a Mason Artist-in-Residence, Small Island Big Song also deeply engaged with the community through a series of education and engagement programs.

On April 13, the oldest modern dance ensemble in the country, Martha Graham Dance Company, returns to the Center with a program that celebrates the company’s 100th anniversary through iconic classics and new work. The spectacular program features pieces by choreographers Agnes de Mille, Jamar Roberts, and of course, Martha Graham, including a special performance by Mason School of Dance students.
