A Meaningful Beginning
In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and with the goal of continuing to create community through the arts, the College of Visual and Performing Arts, in partnership with the Center for the Arts and Hylton Performing Arts Center, launched Mason Arts at Home on April 2, 2020. During the spring 2020 semester, more than 80 digital arts programs were offered at no cost and viewed more than 200,000 times by audiences around the world, reaching new audiences.

Do I need to register to watch Mason Arts Amplified?
Yes! Any Mason Arts Amplified content on masonartsamplified.gmu.edu is separate from the College of Visual and Performing Arts, Center for the Arts, and Hylton Center websites. Therefore, it requires you to create different login and password credentials than you might have for your venue ticket account. Registration is entirely free and open to anyone. Will all Mason Arts Amplified content be free or will I need to purchase anything?
Most Mason Arts Amplified programming is free of charge and accessible just by registering for the website. Some digital events will require paid access, which will be purchased directly through the Mason Arts Amplified platform.
For paid Mason Arts Amplified events, how do I buy digital access?
To purchase paid access to Mason Arts Amplified digital events:

Will content on Mason Arts Amplified always be available for me to watch?
Each program will have a designated time it will be available online to be viewed. The duration it is available to watch or rent will be noted in the event description on Mason Arts Amplified.
Will Mason students have free access to paid digital Mason Arts Amplified events?
Most ticketed in-person events presented by the Center for the Arts, the Hylton Center, or the College of Visual and Performing Arts will have a set quantity of free student tickets available to attend the venue in person. Most paid digital Mason Arts Amplified events are livestreams or recordings of in-person events, and therefore it is encouraged that students use their free access to in-person events. Free student tickets for in-person events will be offered online through the Mason360 platform to any eligible Mason student beginning two Tuesdays prior to each event. Can I stream the broadcasts on my TV instead of a computer, tablet, or phone?

Please note, Mason Arts Amplified will not stream through a downloaded Vimeo App. Users must login to your free account through a web browser to watch content.
Can I exchange my ticket for an in-person event at the Center for the Arts or Hylton Center for paid digital access to a livestreamed event on Mason Arts Amplified?
In-person event tickets are paid on a separate system that is not connected to the Mason Arts Amplified platform for digital events. You may exchange your in-person event ticket for account credit to other eligible in-person events with the venue Ticket Office. Patrons may not exchange an in-person ticket for a digital event. Please purchase digital access to Mason Arts Amplified paid events with your credit card separately.
What if I am unable to watch a digital event I purchased through Mason Arts Amplified?
Content is made available through this streaming service for a limited amount of time. If your event is still available to watch and you are having trouble accessing it, please review Mason Arts Amplified’s help/troubleshooting info.

This Mason Arts Amplified Viewer Terms of Service (“Terms of Service”) is between you whether personally or on behalf of an entity (“you”) and George Mason University (for the purposes hereof, “Mason,” “we” “our”, or “us”), a public institution of higher education and agency of the Commonwealth of Virginia. The Terms of Service constitutes a legally binding agreement and governs your use of the “Mason Arts Amplified Service,” (the “Website”), an online platform that allows consumers like you to learn about us and view video programs of performances, concerts, lectures, etc. (referred herein as “Program” or “Programs”).
Acceptance of the Terms of Service
By accessing this Website, and all its features and content, including making any purchases, you acknowledge and agree that you have read and understand these Terms of Service, are at least eighteen (18) years of age, and wish to be bound by these Terms of Service as set forth herein. If you are not at least eighteen (18) years of age or if you do not agree with these Terms of Service, then you are expressly prohibited from using the Website and you must discontinue use immediately. We reserve the right, in our sole discretion, to make changes or modifications to the terms of this Terms of Service at any time and for any reason. User Account Registration. You must create an account to view the Programs. To do so, you must provide an email address. Once you create an account, you will obtain a user ID and password (“Profile”). By creating an account, you agree to receive notices from Mason at this email address.
Account Security. You agree not to allow any third party to use your Profile to access the Website and to safeguard the information that would allow another person or entity to access the Website by using your Account. You agree to be responsible for your failure to safeguard your Profile information and/or to allow any other person or entity to access the Website by using your Profile or otherwise by using your Account. If you become aware of unauthorized access to your account, you must change your password and notify us immediately. In addition, no part of an account may be transferred or sold to another party by you. You agree that Mason shall not be liable for any loss that results from the unauthorized use of your account, either with or without your knowledge.

Tickets. Tickets to the Programs are offered for sale through the Website. In the event you wish to purchase any of the Programs available, you will be asked by Mason or an authorized third party on Mason’s behalf to supply certain information to us, including without limitation, your full name, address and credit card information. You agree to provide us or such third party with accurate, complete and current information at all times, and to comply with the terms and conditions of any ancillary agreement that you may enter into which governs your purchase of such Programs. You shall be responsible for all charges made under your Profile as well as for paying any applicable taxes.
Payment. Your right to view the Programs that are available for purchase through the Website is conditional on our receipt of the appropriate payment for such Program. To make a purchase, you must provide a valid payment method. We may apply taxes, including VAT (value-added tax), to any charges. Prices and other terms of purchase are subject to change. If such payment cannot be charged to your credit card or if a charge is refunded for any reason, including chargeback, you agree that we reserve the right to cancel your Program purchase and/or suspend or terminate your account.
Risk of Loss. You acknowledge and agree that your only remedy for failures, delays or interruptions with respect to the ordering of and delivery of the Programs ordered by you through the Website is limited to a refund for such products, in Mason’s sole discretion. If the Programs ordered or viewed by you through the Website were provided or offered free of charge, you acknowledge and agree there is no remedy for any failures, delays or interruptions with respect to such free of charge Programs.
Program Descriptions. We attempt to be as accurate as possible in describing the Programs (including pricing) offered for purchase through the Website; however, we do not warrant that all such descriptions are complete, current or error-free.
Refunds. ALL PURCHASES OF PROGRAMS ARE FINAL AND NON-REFUNDABLE.
Licenses and Intellectual Property
All rights not expressly granted by Mason are reserved.
License to Programs: Subject to the terms hereof, you have the right to stream for your personal entertainment purposes: (i) Programs that you have purchased for the stated availability period; (ii) Programs made available within your account.
Restrictions: You may not resell streams, use any Program for any commercial purpose, redistribute or retransmit any Program, publicly perform or display any Program, or make derivative works from any Program. All rights not expressly granted herein are reserved by Mason.
Intellectual Property. All content contained on the Website, including but not limited to video, clips, photographs, text, graphics, logos, icons, images and software (collectively, “Content”) is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws and treaties of both the United States and other countries. You have no right to use our name or Website name or any of George Mason University’s trademarks, logos, domain names, or other intellectual property or proprietary rights. Any third-party trademarks, service marks, logos and other intellectual properties are the property of their respective owners. No content of the Website may be sold, copied, altered, reproduced or distributed without prior written permission, which we may withhold for any reason. Jurisdiction
