Mason hosts international symposium on digital therapeutics

Nearly 400 girls and women interested in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM) gathered to participate in Girls’ Tech Day Virginia, hosted by Amazon Web Services (AWS) on the SciTech Campus in October.

Mason Arts at Home is an online platform and “digital venue” featuring curated arts experiences, including livestreamed concerts, releases of previously recorded content, behind-the-scenes talks with artists, and more.

Sonja Phillips-Thomas is a film and music double major in Mason's College of Visual and Performing Arts and is doing big things in the storytelling world.

The College of Visual and Performing Arts celebrated the in-person return of ARTS! By George in 2022. This signature annual event showcases everything within the College, from groundbreaking and exciting visual art and design to exquisite performances.

Mason student Nadya Steare recently completed a two-month residency at the Akureyri Art Museum in Iceland where she worked full time on a new series.

Mason's Sang Nam has been working with game designers and developers in Tunis, Tunisia, as a Fulbright Specialist.

“An evening like no other,” ARTS by George! makes its in-person return on September 24. The philanthropic event, headlined by Emmy® and Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth, raises support for student scholarships in visual arts, dance, music, theater, game design, film, arts management, as well as for the Mason Community Arts Academy, Green Machine Ensembles, and the Great Performance at Mason season at the Center for the Arts.

This summer Mason seniors Mirella Guzman-Escobar and Jacques Lykes are interning in the office of the House Creative Services, Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) at the U.S. House of Representatives.

Mason artist in residence Abdulrahman “Abi” Naanseh studied interior design at Damascus University in Syria, but his true passion is art, specifically Arabic calligraphy.
