    Debra Smyers has over 25 years of experience within the arts and social services sectors. Currently Ms. Smyers serves as the executive director of Windmore Foundation for the Arts promoting the visual, literary, and performing arts through awareness, participation, and education.
  • Amanda Snellings

    Assistant Director of Development, CVPA

    Amanda Snellings joined George Mason University in 2021. As the Assistant Director of Development for CVPA, Amanda secures philanthropic support for scholarships and academic programs related to the School of Theater, School of Dance, and the Reva and Sid Dewberry Family School of Music.

    Christen Soos recently graduated from George Mason University where she received her Master of Music degree with a concentration in Flute Performance and a Bachelor of Music degree with a concentration in Music Education.

    Prior to her position as Production Manager in the School of Dance, Sophie Sotsky lived and worked in New York City. She was a dancer, choreographer, lighting designer, and production manager.

    Born and raised in the Chicago area, Elizabeth Spatz began her study of dance at the Ruth Page Foundation with Larry Long and the Chicago City Ballet with Maria Tallchief.

    In the Fall of 2010 John Spirtas joined the faculty of the School of Music as Adjunct Professor in Percussion. Prof. Spirtas joined the Washington National Opera Orchestra and  Kennedy Center Opera House Orchestra in 2000 as Principal Percussionist.

    Dr. Thomas Stanley is an artist, author, and activist deeply committed to audio culture in the service of personal growth and social change. As performer and curator, Bushmeat Sound has been an integral part of a visionary music scene straddling the Baltimore-Washington corridor.

    Full Professor, and Director of Graphic Design Program, School of Art, CVPA

    School of Art Director of Graphic Design Don Starr earned his Master of Fine Arts in Integrated Design from the University of Baltimore and a Bachelor of Science in Advertising Design from the University of Maryland, College Park.

    Benjamin Steger has been making films and videos since the 1990’s. He has considerable experience as a director, producer, documentary cinematographer, editor, and sound recordist for documentary, fiction and institutional films.
