    Erik Thor Sandberg (b. 1975, Quantico, VA) lives and works in Washington, D.C. Sandberg is known for his masterful oil paintings of the human figure and landscape. Creating inventive imagery ranging from panoramic to intimate, Sandberg pushes the skillful illusionism of master painting to the contemporary edge of Magic Realism.

    Originally from Detroit, Michigan, Patrick Sargent joined the military at age 17 to become a U.S. Air Force security policeman. In 2002, after twenty years of service, he prepared to retire from the military, and while completing his degree in political science an entry-level printmaking class changed his trajectory.

    Associate Professor of Art Education and Educational Psychology, School of Art, CVPA

    Kimberly Sheridan is an Associate Professor of Educational Psychology. She received her doctorate in Human Development and Psychology in June 2006 from Harvard University Graduate School of Education. She holds a joint appointment in the College of Visual and Performing Arts.

  • Justin Sutters

    Assistant Dean of Research and Assessment, CVPA. Associate Professor, Art Education and Director, Master of Arts in Teaching (MAT I), School of Art, CVPA

    Dr. Sutters was a K-12 art educator in an urban school district for seven years and also taught for two years in São Paulo, Brazil. He completed his undergraduate and masters degree from Kutztown University in Pennsylvania, attained his doctorate degree from the Ohio State University receiving national recognition for his dissertation.

    Jocelyn Tafalla was born and raised in the DMV metropolitan area. She holds two degrees from George Mason’s School of Art & Design; Bachelor of Arts, 2010 and Master of Arts, 2019, both with a concentration in graphic design.
