CVPA faculty

  • Zoë Charlton (Baltimore, MD) creates figure drawings, collages, installations, and animations that depict her subject’s relationship to culturally loaded objects and landscapes. Charlton received her MFA degree from the University of Texas at Austin and participated in residencies, including Artpace Residency (TX), McColl Center for Art + Innovation (NC), Ucross Foundation (WY), the Skowhegan School of Painting (ME), and the Patterson Residency at the Creative Alliance (MD).

  • Cory Oberndorfer has been exhibited nationally, including Grand Central Art Center in Santa Ana, CA, Redux Contemporary Art Center and 4th Wall in Charleston, SC, Kayo Gallery in Salt Lake City, UT, VisArts in Rockville, MD, and Flashpoint Gallery, G Fine Art, and the Katzen Arts Center in Washington, D.C. He has completed residencies in Charleston, SC, Johnson, VT, and Ålvik, Norway.

  • Ana Farnham is a multimedia designer and educator with a broad range of specialties within the design world. She believes in the accessibility of multi-modal design. Her research focuses on experiential graphic design with accessibility at its core.

  • J Carrier (b. Biloxi, Mississippi) spent a decade living and working in Africa and the middle east, and after a five-year stint in Brooklyn, returned home to Washington D.C. where he lives with his family. J. has a BS in Wildlife & Fisheries Science and Forestry from the Pennsylvania State University (1996) and an MFA from the Hartford Art School (2012).

  • Gerald Fowkes, cellist and conductor, is a graduate of Louisiana State University where he graduated summa cum laude in Cello Performance.

  • Ruby Lopez Harper is an adjunct professor in the Arts Management program. She is the Executive Director of Craft Emergency Relief Fund (CERF+).

  • Jenelle Mrykalo, a native of Pennsylvania, holds a BFA in dance from Temple University, where she was also a scholarship trainee at PHILADANCO!

  • Helen Frederick is recognized as a distinguished artist, curator, educator, coordinator of international projects, and as founder of Pyramid Atlantic, a center for contemporary printmaking, hand papermaking and the art of the book.

  • Shu-Chen Cuff was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan where she established a well-rounded background in dance with training in Ballet, Modern, Chinese Opera movements, and various Chinese folk dances.
