    Dr. Lisa Bloy earned a B.M. from Oberlin Conservatory, her M.M. from Pennsylvania University, and a DMA from Michigan State University. As an adjunct faculty member at GMU, Dr. Bloy has accompanied many students from both vocal and instrumental studios and has worked with the GMU opera classes.

    Professor of JAZZ STUDIES and Director of the Metropolitan Jazz Orchestra, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Professor Jim Carroll has a versatile background ranging from tours with Michael Jackson to Woody Herman and The Thundering Herd.  Jim received both his Undergraduate and Graduate training from Indiana University under the tutelage of David Baker and Eugene Rousseau.

    We are thrilled to announce that Soprano Jennifer Casey Cabot is the newly appointed Term Assistant Professor of Voice and Diction at George Mason University, effective August 2023. Jennifer Casey Cabot is a seasoned opera singer who throughout her exciting career has always nurtured an interest in teaching.

    Dr. Kanako Chikami, a native of Japan, is thrilled to be an adjunct percussion faculty member for the Dewberry School of Music of George Mason University.
  • Charles Ciorba

    Associate Professor/Director of GRADUATE MUSIC EDUCATION, Dewberry School of Music, CVPA

    Dr. Charles R. Ciorba, Associate Professor and Director of Graduate Music Education, teaches courses in music education.  Prior to joining the faculty at George Mason University, Dr. Ciorba was Associate Professor and Coordinator of Graduate Music Education at the University of Oklahoma, where he (a) gained extensive experience supervising graduate research and (b) taught courses in the areas of research, psychology, philosophy, sociology, assessment, and quantitative analysis.

    Dennis Cole is a recognized authority of American Studies, whose primary research interest centers on the music of the 20th and 21st centuries, along with various vernacular and popular musical traditions from the United States and Canada.

    Carrie Ann Delaney earned her Bachelor and Master degrees in Music Education from the Aaron Copland School of Music at Queens College in New York. As an undergraduate, she performed as principal clarinet with the Wind Ensemble.
