Angela Ammerman, referred to by the Washington Post as the first “music teacher prodigy,” earned degrees in Music Education from the University of Cincinnati: College-Conservatory of Music, Boston University, and her PhD from George Mason University.- The University Libraries is pleased to announce that we have a new Music and Media Librarian, Prof.Cindy Badilla-Meléndez. Prof.Badilla-Meléndez joined us from the O'Shaughnessy-Frey Library at the University of Saint Thomas, where she has been working as the Head of Music and Media Collections.

Prof. Joseph Benitez is a Northern Virginia and Washington DC native. Dr. Tina Beveridge is Assistant Professor of Choral Music Education and Director of Undergraduate Music Education at the Dewberry School of Music of George Mason University. Although the majority of her teaching experience has been all ages and levels of choral music, in her K-12 career she has also taught middle and high school band and elementary general music. Dr. Lisa Billingham is the newly appointed Director of Choral Activities at George Mason University, effective Fall 2021. She will be directing the University Chorale and the University Singers, and will teach choral conducting and related classes. Jonathan Bisesi has held the position of Percussionist with the “Presidents Own” United States Marine Band since May 2004. Dr. Ina Radeva Mirtcheva is a May 2014 graduate of George Mason University with a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Piano Performance. She has been a piano student of Dr. Anna Balakerskia for many years. Her doctoral dissertation research focused on the life and music of Isaac Miknovsky; Dr. Linda Monson served as her dissertation advisor and mentor.
